Dear all,
I am sorry to post here. I know this is wrong but don't know where to go to. My husband does not have any idea about how to invest his money. Could someone please help me and tell me how you can diversify your savings as an NRI for a safe secure future?
I rely on him for all this but I get no help.

It depends on how much you have to invest, whats your future plan, your background and if there is any family property....
Normally you have to have three different kind of investment. 1/3 - cash, 1/3- property and 1/3 in stock or MF. Again 50:50 here and in India if you have plan to go back to India in the future.
Or consider option one.

The pay need not be exactly same. You can make more. There is no guide line. For example if you made 60K and now you have a job where you make 300K, then it would be hard to say it is the same kind of job.
Employees get yearly pay increase, or when they move they may make more. You need not have to say no if you get a pay increase. :)

Recently I had some trouble updating my profile. The "Additional Information" section has a series of RFE-related (on I-485, I-140, EAD and AP) boxes, where one must enter a valid date in the specified format. Because I did not receive any RFE yet, I tried to get past this page by entering 00/00/0000 ("N/A" did not work), which did not work either, and finally I settled with my PD on all these RFE boxes (which is, of course, incorrect). So, maybe the powers-that-be can fix the problem, and, also remove these wrong entries from my profile?

I have a question, if H4 use EAD for employment and is allowed to keep her H4 status , how come a H1b who still work full time for his sponsor employer looses his H1B status when he finds a part-time job using EAD ?

dyekek12 - as you can obviously see from above, there are a lot of frustrated souls out here. You are in the wrong forum to pose such q's - this place is filled with a lot of socially challenged tech grads who sit on their asses the whole day tracking bureacracies and complaining like village bellies & then do nothing about it. Your q is best answered by a college counselor or dept head. Pick a school with a good program and see what their grads are doing. Most grads will happily answer q's for you honestly. There are plenty of websites to do your research on - but approaching it as an eb3/eb2 gateway is bad. All of them are screwed up.

What all documents are needed in this case to port the I-140 provided the job description stays the same and in the same category code.
We all know that no employer shares the approved I-140 copy as that is the company's property and my understanding is that a copy of approved I-140 is required in order to port the priority date??

Quick question -- Can PD be transferred from EB category to FB category? In other words - can a person having approved I-140 under EB category take that PD to a family based Green Card? Thanks in advance.

However, it does not matter if it is labor substitution (you can still do PD porting). Job Description changes do not matter.
The only requirement is the other I-140 must be approved and active
and it must belong to same beneficiary.

Nope. Your old H1 has already expired. So it has to be altogether a new H1 B application even though the old one is in appeal.
if the appeal on denial goes in my favor then whether I am going to get extension with I-94 or without I94?
I don't know the answer to this. According to my knowledge, once you apply for new H1 B & its approved, the old one is of no use even though the the appeal is in your favor. But its better check with the lawyer on this & if you get the answer to this one, pls. do let me know too.

Try calling the DOS and explaining then what's going on and see who you can call to check the status next.
The lawyers email is text book response and may not help you much.
If the consulate didn't give you any slip during your interview then most likely it is PIMS related. Call up DOS!
i called DOS again and they say its in the final processing stage at the embassy..check with embassy..and embassy said waiting for information from DOS..i just hope VO doesnt send it back to DOS for more processing again...

Could someone tell me please.....I'm filling the application for advance parole the first time......what should I write where it is written: " Date of intended departure"...if I dont know exactly when I'm leaving....should I write a date or should I write " I dont know yet?"
And also I read that the documents required are 2 photos, I-485 receipt notice, I-140 approval notice.....is that right? or what other documents do I need?

I am an EB3 applicant with PD of Sep 2004. I have an EAD but I haven't used it yet. I am still on H1-B.
I have 12 years of experience and a masters degree and given the hopeless EB3 backlog, I have been looking for other suitable employment opportunities (EB2) for the past few weeks.
I have a few questions for the IV members who have switched to new employers and have successfully ported EB3 to EB2:
1. Should I use my EAD and invoke AC21 to transfer to a new employer or should I ask them to file H1-B transfer.
2. How soon is it reasonable to ask the prospective employer to file EB2 labor? I do not want to blow up an opportunity being unreassonable.
In my mind, I am thinking about asking the employer to file for EB2 labor and use my EAD to start working. This is under the assumption that asking an employer to do H1-B transfer and also file EB2 labor might be too much to ask (expense wise) .
Any suggestions/ advice appreciated.
