To each their own, I suppose. Personally, I dislike modern-looking houses. When we built our house, I wanted it to look like it had been here half a century.
I still don't consider my house a mansion, though. When I think of a mansion I think of fragile decor (not childproof), rooms decorated just for show (formal dining room, etc), immaculate landscaping, a garage without a drop of oil on the floor, a wet bar, and either a room devoted to the display of taxidermy or a room filled with musical instruments that no one plays.
I don't mind the older Ivy League look for a place but imo it's time to move forward and discover the "future" that we all used to dream about. Floating cars, modern structures being the majority, etc.

but the point is that Apple's lineup isn't going to stay the way it is forever. Within a couple of weeks or months, Apple will announce the widescreen iPod. Now that they have shown what you can do with a touchscreen, I reckon we should expect OS X and a dully-touchable display on the iPod.
Just wait a little while; the 6th Gen iPod will be released :)
The possibilities seem endless. Maybe, they could do a smart remote control. I've seen those priced at more than $1000 on the high end.

Because my understanding of awards is that they are usually given to encourage and reward the best, not the best of a subset, but the best of all.
If the majority of previous award winners are NOT in the app store, it would suggest that these awards will NOT be to encourage or reward the best, but rather as a cynical marketing tool. So what is it Apple, are you cynical marketeers, or are you creators of and encouragers of that which is insanely great?

So gizmodo is responsible for this how? Questioning what makes an online a journalist a journalist and not just a fan site has been going on for some time (aka: before gizmodo turned off a bunch of TVs). You're just scapegoating an easy target. If you have a problem with the conferences and expos limiting press to only a few big names go after that. Not after guys who like to prank people. The moment you've got a life to lose if you're sued and you have your hds full of pirated movies, music and stuff would be a good point to start being worried. About that life of yours if you're having a job and a family and things like that. Could get nasty if you're having a criminal record and things like that, you know.

Interesting.... I got the feeling from the commercial that more is coming soon, but I didn't see it as "upgrades" which implies costly.
One of Apple's HUGE advantages over Android based devices is that all iOS devices can use the same OS and they all get upgraded at the same time. They need to tout this and I think that's basically what's coming when iOS 5 is released.

I've always found it strange that the version numbers are so redundant. OS X 10.5.5 for example. I just use the roman numeral and drop the second 10. I would write OS X.5.5 for example.
They had to do that. OS X was already registered as a trademark, but thanks to the downfall of the educational system, we've got how many generations of people who don't know a Roman numeral from a Roman candle, and too many of them were reading it "Oh Ess Eks".

I hate the changes. I actually liked the slider. Graphically it was much nicer and obviously would work better with a future touch screen.
